Time Ticks again

Time is a fascinating concept we all share, yet we often let it slip away without realizing its value. The average life expectancy in the United States is 77 years. That’s 924 months, or 4018 weeks, or 28124 days, or 674982 hours in the average life. When we think of it like this we have a lot of time to live life and accomplish our goals. We won’t all live this long but one thing is certain. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. How we choose to use that time truly matters. Do we spend it scrolling through social media or binge-watching TV shows, or do we use it to pursue our passions and make a positive difference in the world?

The true beauty of time lies in its limited supply. Every moment holds the potential to create something unique and meaningful, but we have to be intentional about how we use it. Giving someone extra time in a discussion because they are excited to tell you about their day, or walking a little slower next to someone so they don’t have to be walking alone. We can focus on what truly matters, like helping others, fulfilling our responsibilities, and loving one another. Doing so can positively influence those around us and make the most of our time in a way God would be proud of us as faithful servants.

It’s easy to get absorbed in the busyness of life and overlook the importance of time. But let’s remember that every second counts, just as every person counts. The book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 11 reminds us we should sow our seed, day and night, as we never know which actions will bear fruit. So, let’s clinch each moment as an opportunity to prioritize what’s important and confidently impact the Earth. Time is a beloved resource we all possess, and we must use it wisely. Let’s not waste it; instead, let’s make the most of it and create something beautiful that will last forever. Time is a fascinating concept that we all have in common. It’s one of the few things God isn’t making more of, yet we often let it slip away without realizing it.

So the next time you mindlessly scroll through your phone or procrastinate on an important task, remember the value of time. It’s a precious resource we all possess, and it’s up to us to make the most of it. Let’s embrace each moment as an opportunity to prioritize what’s important and live a proud life. In the New Testament, Matthew reminds us that the Son of Man will come at an unexpected hour (24:44). This reminds us to use our time wisely and not procrastinate in doing good. So, let us make the most of every opportunity to sow our seeds and make a difference! equally well. Therefore, utilizing our time to help others, fulfilling our responsibilities, and loving one another above all else are all essential tasks that we should prioritize.

For most of my life, my priorities have been other than honorable. I should have spent more time with God and growing with His people, but I let anger, bitterness, and self-loathing stop me from seeing how much time I was wasting. How do you ask God to forgive you for something you can never bring or return or redo? Not having control like this is when God shows us that while time might have been wasted if you’re still breathing, you still have time and purpose. Time is something we all graciously get but run out of when we least expect it. Why do we feel like we have an unlimited amount of time? Why do we allow ourselves to get so busy with unimportant tasks that the true importance gets lost in the time we waste?

We carry the power to make the most of each moment; by doing so, we can leave a lasting influence on the world around us. Whether we experience moments of pure bliss or frustration, we can respond with purpose and intention. Let us embrace each moment as an opportunity to prioritize what’s important and make time for the things that matter most. Time is precious, so let’s do the most with it.

Until next time,

Kristen A.
