God Loves Broken People Like Us

Learning who you are is a lifetime lesson with ever-changing results. The best way to find out who you are is to understand how God sees you, the first step to that is learning to walk and talk with God sincerely. Learning to not only walk with God but allow yourself to love Him and Him love you in return. This is an indescribable walk of learning what faith means, trusting when it doesn’t make sense, and seeing beyond reason. Learning to love beyond your own capacity of understanding is a complex road that opens endless possibilities of love, allowing light to come through the darkest crevices of our souls.

Being in a world of brokenness can be hard to see God at work.

One thing I have held onto is the broken parts, the areas of our lives where we have the chance for the light of Jesus to shine through and mend those cracks. I’m reminded of a story we hear in the bible Luke 8:43 The woman with an issue of blood who was suffering for 12 years. As a last attempt to find a solution after exhausting all other resources, she crawls to Jesus in her brokenness and has faith in healing through Him. Jesus goes on to heal her and call her daughter. The significance is not only that this is the only place Jesus refers to someone as daughter, but having faith in Jesus soul deep, is the faith needed to push past the trials of the world with Jesus leading. Through her brokenness, she was able to still see through her cracks of despair and reach for the only one who could heal not only her physical body but her mind and soul.

Are you willing to crawl to Jesus to be saved, to be healed?

Learning to look through the lens of the Spirit will not only help you to have a clear vision of how God sees you but will also help you to find grace for yourself and others. Living in a world where sin is good and good is bad, where can one find the right path to be on? We look to Psalm 34:15, “He sees your heart and desire to be good; He sees your struggles and how you are drawn to things that aren’t good. He is always there to listen and help when you pray to Him with a sincere and humble heart. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” Knowing God is right there alongside you as you grow is a comfort in seeing you are not on this path alone.

1 Corinthians 6:19, “ Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.

Lean on God and the Spirit this week to push forward. You are not alone in your struggle.

Until next time!
